About Kashan University of Medical Sciences (KAUMS) |

Kashan Faculty of Medicine, founded in 1986, became Kashan University of Medical Sciences (KAUMS) as an independent university in 1993. Now it has more than 2600 students who study in 47 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the schools of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Health, Allied Medical Sciences, and Dentistry. KAUMS has more than 1000 educational beds, nine specialized research centers, and four scientific journals. Performance of academic members, students, managers, and staff of the university in effective using of these facilities has enabled KAUMS to be recognized as a top university by the Ministry of Health & Medical Education.
Kashan School of Nursing and Midwifery has been established in 1986 as the first school in the KAUMS. This school offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The school of nursing and midwifery offer three Bachelor programs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, and Bachelor of Science in Surgical Technology. Besides the school of nursing and midwifery provide four masters of sciences degrees of Geriatric Nursing, Intensive Care Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Psychiatric Nursing. Since 2014 the school has been qualified to accept students in PhD degree in nursing sciences.
The school of nursing and midwifery has established a research center in Trauma Nursing in 2012. The Trauma Nursing Research Center (TNRS) supports the researches about nursing in trauma from prevention to rehabilitation.

Nursing and Midwifery Studies, a publication of Kashan University of Medical Sciences (KAUMS), is a peer-reviewed print + online Quarterly journal. The journal's full text is available online at http://www.nmsjournal.com. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

Digital Archiving Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS. Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website. CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware. Ahead of Print policy Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record. Advertisements While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content: - "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
